Antimicrobial resistance threatens the efficacy of drugs that ensure animal health and welfare as well as poses a threat to human health. Antimicrobial stewardship is a set of practices that aim to slow the rate at which bacteria develop resistance to antimicrobial drugs.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture in collaboration with Washington State University and the University of California, Davis, are hosting a one-day, multimedia, interactive conference that will bring veterinarians and dairy producers together to learn about the threat of antimicrobial resistance and provide insights for practical antimicrobial stewardship plans for their farms.
